A reflection on grand central
The unique location of Grand Central makes it more than just a shopping and dining destination: sat above the redeveloped New Street Station it will be the ideal place to meet friends and family, or colleagues ahead of a day of shopping.
And if it’s not pure retail therapy you are after, but delicious dining then Grand Central will provide a whole host of fabulous eateries and restaurants to tempt. All of this will sit under the stunning new roof, through which natural light will flood Grand Central and the concourse below.
Grand Central is encased in a stunningly clad building, the stainless steel facade which is making its way around the centre is amazing, and is adding a unique style to Birmingham’s already stunning architecture. Through the reflective panels you can really see how fantastic our city is, and, I’m also told it’s a great way to take a selfie outside!
Talking of outside, Grand Central will also be the gateway to exploring some of the great sights and sounds of Birmingham. There are just so many different things to do in Birmingham from a visit to the Think Tank Science Museum to a day out at the Sea Life Centre. The Electric Cinema is less than a minutes’ walk away, the Hippdrome theatre just round the corner and the Chinese Quarter is just over 5 minutes away. And if you want to try something really different why not visit ‘Escape Live’ which is 20 minutes away.
One of the really exciting things that we’re currently working on for Grand Central is some ideas and suggestions about places to visit and things to do whilst here in Birmingham. We think that letting people know there is lots to explore and see in the city will help them to have a fun filled day alongside shopping and eating at Grand Central.
