A spotlight on Cath Kidston
Why did you want to work at Grand Central?
I’ve just graduated from University, studying Fashion Business. I used to work at the Selfridges concession and I was looking for a new job after University and Aaron the General Manager asked me if I wanted to work at the Grand Central store. I had already been considering Grand Central, it has a good atmosphere, the customers are lovely and it’s always really busy- people pop in before catching the train or work to grab a quick present.
I knew when I finished University that I wanted to go into VM but there wasn’t a position at Selfridges as they don’t have store windows so this worked out perfectly.
What do you like about Birmingham?
I like the fact that it’s a diverse City with a good mix of interesting people. Birmingham is definitely an up and coming place especially with the launch of Grand Central- Johnathan Cheetham (Grand Central Manager) says this is going to be like London now. We have a reputation for being moody but I think we’re all really happy.
What do you enjoy working for Cath Kidston?
The best thing about the company is the brand ethos, we treat everyone like family and we’re all friends. I have made relationships with customers form Selfridges who shop here now, our customers are very loyal.
Can you tell us about the Autumn/Winter collection for 2015 at Cath Kidston?
Our new collection has just launched-the overnight bags are only £40 and include a luggage tag as well. I’ll use mine if I’m going away for the weekend or even if I’m going on holiday I’ll use and it fits nicely in the overhead locker. They’re so diverse and a really good price.
The Robot print is my favourite this season.
If you’re looking for a gift, the Robots Overnight Bag Gift Set includes a holdall, luggage tag, storage pocket and passport cover which will be the perfect gift for Christmas.
Our faux fur collars from our Autumn/Winter clothing collection come in a range of colours, they are the perfect accessory for your Winter coat or even a floral tea dress.
Why did you want to work in fashion?
I have a very creative mind-set and I’ve always been interested in fashion. I studied Fashion Design at college.
